FRAY weaves together dance, rap, spoken word and digital visuals to explore how technology is reshaping human relationships. Sitting at the intersection of theatre, hip hop culture and gaming, it creates an immersive live experience where audiences help shape the narrative and engage with questions around AI, creativity and what it means to be human.
FRAY premiered to sold-out audiences at Sadler's Wells Lilian Baylis Theatre in June 2024, attracting a diverse, multi-generational audience drawn from both theatre and hip hop communities.
Watch our traileR
FRAY follows Tullio and Ziya, two brothers whose bond begins to unravel as Ziya is drawn into a powerful virtual world by Luscious, an AI character he has prompted into existence.
As the boundaries between real and digital life begin to blur, the brothers are pulled into a conflict that tests their relationship and their sense of reality.
At its core, FRAY is about what it means to love, to connect, and to remain human in a world increasingly shaped by technology.
In Development
FRAY is entering an exciting new phase of development, focused on deepening the show's interactive elements and finding new ways for audiences to shape the narrative in real time.
Central to this is a new collaboration with Lady Leshurr — MOBO Award winner, British Empire Medal recipient and one of the most distinctive voices in UK hip hop — who will be collaborating on new music and lyrics for the show.
FRAY is now booking for an Autumn 2027 tour across the UK and internationally. Please get in touch to discuss presenting the work at your venue.
